A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Grim Reapers and Holy City Herons.
The Grim Reapers pasted the Holy City Herons, 15-2. Grim right fielder Terry Smith had a big game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Stan Coffey got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Herons to 1 run on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1.
The Reapers ran into trouble in the top of the third. The score was 1-0, Grim, with one out. Holy City, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had Robert Robinson at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he flied out and the Reapers went on to win.
The loss drops Holy City to 7-7.
