The Delmarva Gallos did just enough to sneak past the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-4, at The Cage. Delmarva first baseman Bernardo López, in particular, had a standout performance. Carlos Valtierra earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The loss drops Grand Forks to 2-8.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Gilbert Guy came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Grand Forks pitcher James Little, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Delmarva on top, 5-4.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said López.
