In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Monroeville rode a good effort from starter Oliver Reynolds to beat the Pontiac Godfathers at Pontiac Copperdome. The final score was 5-2. The save went to Jacob Napper, number 5 for him.
Monroeville used the timely hitting of Bill Stewart to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yinzers on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I still think this team can play even better," Stewart told the Monroeville Citizen.
Monroeville goes to 6-2.
