In a low-scoring contest, Alameda pitcher Larry Oliver was marvelous in his team's 1-0 win. The save went to Phil Krause, number 5 for him. Alameda, with the win, is 5-2.

Though he did not get the decision, Oliver did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 5.2 innings, until Alameda eventually rallied past the Hobeaus.

"We found a way to get it done," Oliver said.
