Bulls Sneak Past Expos, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Félix Pérez pitched well enough to help the Belleville Bulls beat the Niagara Falls Expos, 4-3. The win belongs to Dave Younger in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Frank Gould took the loss for Niagara Falls. Akihito Ishikawa closed the door for Belleville, picking up his 7th save of the year.
Belleville relied on the bat of Joe Kramer to get the win. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls ahead, 4-3. For the game, Kramer had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Niagara Falls manager Mackenzie Bolen said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Their 38-58 record puts the Bulls 10th in the Menard's A.
