Robert Walls never let the Bush Pilots get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Torch to a win, 1-0. The 11th-place Torch are 28-46.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Eulogio Churruca was at the plate when Mancelona scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Torch to go in front, 1-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Mancelona skipper Simon Banks. "I can't complain."
