The Mancelona Torch went home winners at Bush Pilots Park, thanks in large part to starter Phil Drew. Drew stifled the Alaskan Bush Pilots, enabling Mancelona to grab the 5-1 win. Drew, now 3-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The victory puts Mancelona at 27-46.

The Torch got an important contribution from first baseman Gabriel Salinas, who in the top of the third hit a 0-1 splitter into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Torch ahead, 4-0.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Torch manager Simon Banks, "I like our chances."
