The Matlacha Manatees got a magnificent performance from pitcher Ronald Jackson, who muffled the Mancelona offense en route to a tight 2-1 Manatees win at Torch Field. Alonso González finished to wrap up his 7th save. With the win, the Manatees improved to 22-24.
Matlacha used the timely hitting of Robby Mills to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Manatees on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mills said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
