Manatees Earn 8-7 Win Against Bush Pilots
|
The Matlacha Manatees topped the Alaskan Bush Pilots, 8-7, with center fielder Brent Durand playing a big role. Durand went 3-3 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Manatees in the win. Juan Sánchez notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-3. Matlacha has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
The Manatees procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Manny García. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This place sure got loud," said Peter Williams, the Matlacha manager.
