Belleville got a decent performance from pitcher Thomaz Sedas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Matlacha Manatees. Matlacha won the Fuller Park contest, 4-3. Sedas threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The 9th-place Manatees have won 4 straight games.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Juan Méndez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Belleville pitcher Bill Underwood, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Matlacha on top, 4-3.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Belleville manager Rafael Avelar said following the tough loss.
