The Put-In-Bay Commodores had to overcome a fine performance from Mancelona pitcher Kanzaburo Ichikawa to grab a 3-2 win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Ichikawa allowed 2 runs over 6.2 innings. The 8th-place Commodores improved to 14-18.

Frank Huff was the walk-off hero for Put-In-Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Commodores first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

Huff described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
