Chukars Win at Belleville, 2-1
|
The Belleville Bulls got a superb performance from pitcher Norbert Nuesink. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Idaho Falls. The Chukars won the game, 2-1. Nuesink threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Picking up the win was Dax Marshall. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 3. Anastasio Orozco finished to wrap up his 7th save.
José Tobías, the 22-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tobías contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Idaho Falls up, 1-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Idaho Falls manager Todd Hines.
The win elevated the Chukars to 20-8.
