Idaho Falls Chukars starter Sib Gijbels was in fine form against the Matlacha Manatees at Idaho Falls Park, leading his team to a win, 2-1. The save went to Anastasio Orozco, number 6 for him. The second-place Chukars improved to 15-6.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Álex Torres came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Matlacha pitcher Sung-jae Park, he hit a 2-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Idaho Falls on top, 2-1.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Torres.
