In a low-scoring tilt between the Asheville Highlanders and the Ithaca Fighting Imps, Dale Burney was the difference-maker. The Asheville left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Burney got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Burney allowed no runs. The 7th-place Highlanders are 42-50.
The Highlanders got a lift from catcher Graham Wooten, who in the bottom of the fourth stroked a first pitch changeup into right for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Highlanders ahead, 2-0.
