McGregor Impressive in Tacoma Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders topped the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 5-3, in USPL Double A action at Ballpark of Tacoma. The standout performance belonged to Tacoma pitcher and Shawinigan, Canada, native Todd McGregor. The win has Tacoma at 30-48.
McGregor, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 8 in 7 innings and gave up 2 runs.
McGregor moves to 4-6 on the year with 76 strikeouts.
In comments to the Tacoma Gazette, McGregor insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
