Fighting Imps Go 10 Innings to Beat Minnesota, 3-2
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Minnesota Loons, 3-2, in USPL Double A action at Loony Bin. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ithaca pitcher Frederick Jennings. Emery Kehler, 5-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Wan-hua Yi was called on to finish, recording his 20th save.
Ithaca used the clutch hitting of Evan Winn to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Winn. "I like it."
The 6th-place Fighting Imps go to 34-37.
