Highlanders Snag 5-2 Win
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Vince Moran pitched his team past the Athletic Club KC Academy, 5-2. Bob O'Slattery notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. Getting the save was Rob Sawyer, his 17th.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Homer Harrington to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a good effort all around," said Harrington.
At 32-39, the Highlanders are currently 7th in the Premier AA.
