Late Magic Gets Minnesota 7-5 Win
Wei-fang Ping left his imprint on the 7-5 Minnesota win against the Tacoma Fur Traders. Ping, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA with a .329 batting average, went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Elton Johnson, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Culley McGeraghty earned the save for Minnesota, his 3rd of the year.

With Minnesota leading 6-5 in the top of the eighth, Ping hit a run-scoring single off Tacoma hurler Daniel Goodhew. It was the 91st hit of the season for Ping and put his team ahead, 7-5.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ping told the Minnesota Times. "Whatever it takes."

Minnesota, now 42-23, holds down second place in the Premier AA.
