Fighting Imps Prevail, 3-1, Over Bethesda
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Ithaca Fighting Imps and the Bethesda Atoms. Ithaca won it, 3-1. Ithaca starter Gabe Turner was in command. Wan-hua Yi closed the door for Ithaca, picking up his 19th save of the year. The Fighting Imps' win now puts them at 31-33.
Mark Doss had a big solo home run for the Fighting Imps in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Ithaca leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a cutter from Franklin Hopkins and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fighting Imps ahead, 2-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Turner said after the game.
