Sidney Jones never let Providence get something going. The Minnesota right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Loons to a 2-0 win. Matt Dougherty locked down his 7th save. With the win, Minnesota pushed its record to 39-22.

Jones gave Minnesota a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings.

"I liked his command," said Minnesota manager Eddie O'Bryan. "Sidney was throwing strikes."
