Loons Beat Krewe, 7-2
|
The Minnesota Loons stymied the Crescent City Krewe, 7-2, at Loony Bin. Stephan Tietmeyer had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Minnesota. Eduardo Garduño picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-4. He struck out 2 in 5.2 innings. Hemolekekeakua Makaalohi earned the save for Minnesota, his 5th of the year.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Tietmeyer, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in doubles with 13, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Loons into the lead, 4-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Tietmeyer.
The Loons, at 37-21, sit in second place in the Premier AA.
