Manatees Fall, 8-2, to Locke, Hawks
|
The Laredo Hawks downed the Matlacha Manatees, 8-2, at Fuller Park. Moe Locke led the way, going 3-for-5 for Laredo. The loss puts Matlacha at 4-9.
Laredo used a well-timed hit by Ben Nelson to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Nelson said. "That's why you play the game."
