Ithaca and Asheville got after it at Imps Park.

Asheville had no answer for Ithaca Fighting Imps hurler Adam Walker, who overwhelmed Highlanders hitters as the Fighting Imps coasted to victory, 6-1. Walker got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 2 hits and walked 5 over 5.2 innings. Walker allowed no runs.

The Highlanders had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Fighting Imps going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old center fielder Marc Porter came to the plate. Porter hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 curveball from Asheville hurler Dale Burney. It was Porter's 3rd home run of the year.

Porter told the Ithaca Observer: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."

Asheville has now lost 5 in a row.
