Highlanders Beat Athletic Club KC Academy, 3-1

Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Asheville Highlanders and Athletic Club KC Academy.
Ricardo Sandoval could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Athletic Club KC Academy lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Asheville Highlanders at KC Academy Field. Rick Behan notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Brent Keys to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Highlanders on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
Afterward, Highlanders manager Pancho Campos was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The 6th-place Highlanders have a record of 18-21.
