Atoms Snatch Late Win
The Atoms grabbed a win, 6-5, at Atoms Field, overcoming a fine effort from Mercer Island pitcher Nick Johnston. Johnston went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Bethesda reliever Michael Humphreys picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ramón Flores shouldered the loss. Bethesda, at 12-21, holds down 9th place in the Premier AA.

Donald Bentley was the walk-off hero for Bethesda. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Atoms right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Bentley. "Maybe this win will help."
