Minnesota Beats Northville, 7-3
|
The Minnesota Loons defeated the Northville Eclipse, 7-3, at Old-Timers Park. Wei-fang Ping was a standout performer for Minnesota. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Eduardo Garduño, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 4-2. The save went to Elton Johnson, number 1 for him.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Stephan Tietmeyer? The Minnesota first baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Loons on top, 3-1. For the game, Tietmeyer had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Tietmeyer.
The Loons improved to 22-11.
