Krewe Lose at Home, 3-1, to Mercer Island

The bats were silent much of the day at Field of the Krewe. But Sam Stewart conjured up just enough offense to carry the Screaming Eagles past the Crescent City Krewe, 3-1. Stewart went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Jeff Cook collected his 3rd save. The Screaming Eagles now have a record of 12-13 with the win over Crescent City.
Mercer Island used a well-timed hit by Orlando Rodríguez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Rodríguez told the Mercer Island Chronicle.
