Northville Beats Asheville, 2-0
|
The Northville Eclipse got a stellar performance from pitcher Allen Oliver, who handcuffed the Asheville offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Asheville Park. Lyndon Lerwill closed it out for his 9th save. The triumph puts Northville at 17-8 for the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steven Sas? The Northville right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Eclipse on top, 1-0. For the game, Sas had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I like what I saw today," said Northville manager Pedro Ángel, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
