Screaming Eagles Come Up Short at Minnesota, 5-4
The Minnesota Loons beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4, at Loony Bin. Robin Merlet was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The 22-year old shortstop was a menace to Mercer Island all day. José Torres recorded the save, his 3rd. Minnesota, at 12-9, sits in third place in the Premier AA.

Merlet had a timely hit for Minnesota in the bottom of the seventh. With Mercer Island trailing 4-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-4, Minnesota.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Merlet. "And not try to do too much."
