Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old catcher John Lake, the Ithaca Fighting Imps stopped the Asheville Highlanders, 7-2. Frederick Jennings earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. The Highlanders drop to 9-10 and continue their mediocre start to the 2056 season.

With Ithaca leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Lake hit a cutter from Dale Burney for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Fighting Imps ahead, 5-0.
