Alden Swain did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Laredo Hawks from losing, 6-5, to the Rocky Mountain Vibes at Hawks Field. Swain went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Rafael Souza. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Pepe Aguilar earned the save, his 2nd, for the Vibes.
David Hunt dealt the Hawks a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Rocky Mountain leading 4-3, Hunt, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2056 draft, hit a 1-0 cutter for a run-scoring single.
"We've got a great group of guys," Hunt said, "and we're having fun right now."
Rocky Mountain, with the win, is 4-1.
