Chesapeake got a strong outing from Maurice Richards as the Cangrejos Fantasmas defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 5-2, at Ghost Crab Park. The winning pitcher was Richards, now 9-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. Daniel Henry picked up the save, his 2nd.

Sammy Baldwin came through for Chesapeake when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a two-strike curveball to center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Chesapeake manager Jorge Baca.

With the win, Chesapeake upped its record to 52-47.
