Squirrel Hill picked up a win at Ghost Crab Park, bumping off the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 3-2. Pitcher Lester Creed was a major reason the Pierogis emerged victorious. In 7 innings, Creed surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The 4th-place Cangrejos Fantasmas have lost 4 consecutive games.
Squirrel Hill used the bat of Jeff Dwyer to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pierogis ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Feels good to get the job done," Dwyer said after the game.
