|
The Toledo Saboteurs handed the Gulf Coast Turbeaus a sound defeat, 11-3, at Toledo Backyard Park. David Sterling was a main contributor to the win. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Toledo. Allan Reid, the winner, improved to 6-10. He held the Turbeaus to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Toledo now owns a record of 46-49.
Sterling contributed in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Toledo get the win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Toledo manager Fernando Mendoza.
