Chesapeake picked up a win at The Igloo, bumping off the Billings Polar Bears, 5-0. Pitcher Davey de Haan was a major reason the Cangrejos Fantasmas emerged victorious. Chesapeake is now 49-42, Billings 39-52.
de Haan, who dominated for Chesapeake, earned the victory to move to 2-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 7. Billings batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said de Haan. "And vice-versa."
