Dolphins Roll to 8-2 Win Over Polar Bears
|
Pine Island Dolphins starter Diego Pounds had all his pitches working at Goodyear Hanger Dome. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Pine Island win over the Billings Polar Bears. Pounds, the winner, moves to 7-5. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Gabriel Salas was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
The Polar Bears had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Dolphins going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Malik bin Nadim came to the plate. bin Nadim hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from Billings hurler Ernest Thompson. It was bin Nadim's 1st double of the year.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Dolphins manager .
With this game in the books, Pine Island is 43-39, Billings 36-46.
