Saboteurs Bridle Polar Bears, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Toledo Saboteurs and the Billings Polar Bears, Pat Kirkpatrick was the difference-maker. The Toledo right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Rabi Tamir, now 6-2, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Toledo, now 44-37, holds down second place in the Silver AA.
Toledo used the timely hitting of Joe Clemons to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Saboteurs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In comments to the Toledo Chronicle, Kirkpatrick admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
