Morris Shines in 2-1 Toledo Win
|
In a low-scoring game between Toledo and Squirrel Hill, pitcher Chris Morris was excellent. The Toledo right-hander helped his team knock off the Pierogis, 2-1. In 7.1 innings, Morris surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 13 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Hal Wilson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 23rd save.
In the bottom of the fourth, Alejandro Rivera delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 1st, the Toledo right fielder hit a 2-run home run, putting the Saboteurs in front, 2-1.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Rivera told the Toledo Chronicle. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
The Saboteurs go to 41-31, putting them third in the Silver AA.
