Cangrejos Fantasmas Walk It Off for 35th Win of Season
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 6-5, in 11 innings. Chesapeake right fielder Tom Burke, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Chesapeake reliever José Souza got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Paul Montgomery was tagged with the loss. Chesapeake, at 35-34, holds down 5th place in the Silver AA.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Chesapeake designated hitter Nicky Chamings, facing Paul Montgomery, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cangrejos Fantasmas the 6-5 win.
