In a tight game between the Billings Polar Bears and the Pine Island Dolphins, pitcher Jerry Bishop was terrific on the mound. The Billings right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. The winner was Stanley Curtiss in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chris Lee took the loss. Billings goes to 31-36, Pine Island to 38-29.

The Dolphins had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Polar Bears going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Craig Stafford came to the plate. Stafford hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch curveball from Pine Island hurler Chris Lee. It was Stafford's 9th double of the year.

"It's a mindset," said Bishop. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
