Cox Finds Groove in 5-1 Triumph
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus topped the Yakima Hops, 5-1, in USSL Double A action at Mobile Home Park. The standout performance belonged to Gulf Coast pitcher and Rockford, Illinois, native Ron Cox. The Turbeaus move to 30-35 with the win, while the Hops drop to 36-29.
It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Cox, who tallied 7 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing just 7 hits. Cox, who leads the SAA with a 1 complete games, goes to 4-0 on the year with 25 strikeouts.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Cox.
