Thunder Hawks Get One-Run Win at Chesapeake
|
Chesapeake third baseman Sammy Baldwin was sensational. He was 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Ft. Polk South beat the Cangrejos Fantasmas, 5-4. The winner was Héctor García, who threw 109 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits. Jorge Salas closed the game out for Ft. Polk South, earning his 12th save.
In the top of the second, Ft. Polk South shortstop Qing-lai Li had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Li stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 3-0, Ft. Polk South. For the game, he was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs.
"A great game, a great day," said Li about the win. "I can't complain."
The Thunder Hawks' win now puts them at 28-25.
