Polar Bears Fall Short, 5-4, at Yakima
The Yakima Hops picked up a win at Hops Park, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 5-4. Starting pitcher Andrew Martin played a key role in the triumph. Martin got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Martin allowed 4 runs. With the win, Yakima raised its record to 26-20.

Thomas Austin had a big hit for Yakima in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Yakima leading 4-0, Austin hit a run-scoring double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Hops up, 5-0.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Austin told the Yakima Bulletin.
