The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-2, in USSL Double A action at Ghost Crab Park. Chesapeake pitcher Jesús Sánchez had a standout performance. Pancho Caro recorded his 2nd save for Chesapeake. Chesapeake has a 3-game win streak, while Squirrel Hill has lost 3 in a row.

The Pierogis had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cangrejos Fantasmas going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Waihoroi Ieke came to the plate. Ieke hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Squirrel Hill hurler John Pope. It was Ieke's 3rd home run of the year.

Sánchez told a Chesapeake Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
