The Pierogis faced a stiff challenge from Gulf Coast pitcher Toshiki Hara, but persevered to claim a win at Field of the Rawhides. The final score was 2-1. Hara went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Squirrel Hill reliever José Contreras was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Toshiki Hara. The win makes Squirrel Hill 7-14.
The Pierogis got a big at-bat from center fielder Dylan Bettinson. For the game, Bettinson went 1-5 with a home run. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Squirrel Hill a 2-1 lead.
