Polar Bears Win, 5-4, at Squirrel Hill

The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a sterling performance from pitcher Jonathan Lynch, but the Billings Polar Bears still prevailed, 5-4. Lynch threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win was credited to Tommy Adams in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jake Baird took the loss. The loss makes Squirrel Hill 4-14.
Billings used the timely hitting of Manny Sánchez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Squirrel Hill manager Carlos Soto.
