Extra-Inning Win by Thunder Hawks Over Polar Bears
|
Ft. Polk South beat Billings at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Norberto Carrillo. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Manuel Liscano, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The win gives Ft. Polk South a record of 6-6.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With one out, Carrillo hit a fastball from Nick Price for a solo home run. The Thunder Hawks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Carrillo told the Ft. Polk South Chronicle.
