The Graveyard was host to some intense drama.
The Casper Ghosts defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 3-2. Doing his part was third baseman José Díaz, who went 2-4 with a home run. Casper reliever Jim Bird was the winner. His record is now 9-5. Carlos Mejía took the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Díaz hit a fastball from Carlos Mejía for a solo home run. The Ghosts, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Díaz called the win "a collective effort."
The Ghosts raised their record to 40-54.
