Sixshooters Go Down to Defeat, 6-1
|
The Marquette Miners defeated the Westwood Sixshooters, 6-1, in M3L Double A action at Marquette Stadium. Marquette pitcher Quincy Rose had a standout performance. Rose picked up the win for Marquette, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. After today's action, Marquette sits at 36-51; Westwood slips to 45-42.
In the bottom of the fourth, with Marquette leading 1-0, third baseman Alexander Thompson hit a 2-run single. The hit came off Luke Edgar and put the Miners ahead, 3-0.
"I know we have our doubters," said Westwood manager Ricardo Vásquez. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
