Fat Cats Beat Lancaster, 3-2

The Ottawa Fat Cats had to overcome a fine performance from Lancaster pitcher Francisco Colón to grab a 3-2 win at Farmers Field. Colón allowed no runs over 7 innings. Ottawa reliever Dominique Leclère got the win, raising his record to 4-3. Chris MacIntyre was tagged with the loss. Earning his 10th save for Ottawa was Jesús Sánchez.
Ottawa used the timely hitting of John Nelson to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fat Cats on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like what I saw today," said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Fat Cats move to 28-39 with the win, while the Farmers drop to 34-33.
